CLAY CERTIFICATION - LEVEL 1

What is this coaching thing really about, especially when it comes to younger athletes? What should  we do as coaches to create the kind of atmosphere that nourishes a positive connection with our athletes - the kind of connection that enables them to become the amazing athletes they want to be? What can we as coaches do to make sure these young athletes are given every opportunity to thrive? That’s the essence of this seminar.

Our goal is to go beyond the Xs and Os to help you develop elite-level athletes who have a lucid and strong mental game and will have the ability to navigate the complex milieu surrounding athletics and sports from the moment they begin the fundamentals until they hang up their player’s card.

The C.L.A.Y. Level One certification gives coaches, parents and administrators tools needed to effectively enhance or begin their journey of mentally and athletically developing and coaching youth, pre-teen, adolescent and late teenage athletes through the lens of physical, biological, social and psychological growth.

This online course combines more than 24 hours of video, presentations, reading and hands-on work you will need to complete. The complete assessment as well as the exercises put in our dynamic warmup are explained in detail. You may want to get one of your athletes to help you practice and get comfortable with administering both.

LEVEL 3 - HEAD COACH

A CLAY HEAD COACH has a program or a system in place that has the power to transform young athletes from the earliest of athletic ages to seasoned veterans of professional sports.

A CLAY HEAD COACH values effective and appropriately personal relationships with athletes because the benefits go beyond wins and losses to helping influence positive moral and ethical behaviors.

A CLAY HEAD COACH understands that rookies do not teach rookies. This coach keeps a hand in directly coaching and teaching young athletes on a consistent basis.

A CLAY HEAD COACH understands that knowledge reigns supreme and, more importantly, it should be shared for the good of giving everybody the ability to help transform young athletes.

C.L.A.Y. - THE ART OF COACHING

C.L.A.Y. - Xs & Os

An overwhelming majority of the questions we get asked at C.L.A.Y. are about things and issues that have nothing to do with running, jumping, throwing, hitting, sprinting or catching or any other physical activity young athletes do.

  • You will gain a surprising realization about the essence of coaching.

  • You will understand the perspective of many parent's and youth organizations.

  • You will be well-versed in connection:
         > You will know importance of connection.
         > You will know how to develop connection.
         > You will know how to grow connection.

  • You will leave this course with actionable material that can be put to use in their programs tomorrow.

  • You will understand the nuances of creating an environment that doesn’t allow any young athlete to slip through the cracks of athletic neglect and abandonment.

  • You will gain a better grasp on helping young athletes navigate construction of their emotional intelligence.

The C.L.A.Y. Xs & Os seminar is all about teaching the physical and athletic acumen of the maturation process in a way that allows the athletes to properly develop.

We will show you how and why we assess our young athletes. We will cover the BIG 5/SUPER 8 our complete assessment program. It goes from understanding breathing, the most primitive thing we do, to assessing speed. We’ll cover primitive and postural reflex retention and integration. It’s an assessment protocol that is rarely seen in the athletic space and is used even less. It, however,  might be one of the most important assessments we do for our athletes’ life-long movement competency.

You’ll learn a multitude of exercises you can use to teach your young athletes how to properly prepare their bodies for skills and drills your sport requires.

We use stations and obstacle courses for our young athletes and we will show you how we set up and execute those practices. Coaches, this is a learn-by-doing seminar. The more you employ the information you learn in this seminar the more comfortable you’ll be with the material – and your athletes will be better off for it.
